Happy with the 20 K run today. Was a bit worried since it snowed Friday. Opted not to run yesterday to allow the sidewalks and roads to be cleared. The weather was sunny, -1C (windchill -7C), and the sidewalks were dry along Dundas Street East and Queen Street East.

2 weekday runs in COLD weather
Winter has definitely arrived - soooo different from the last 2 weeks. Ran 3 K today and 3 K yesterday after work. Weather was -13C with windchill of -22C. Rationale for this "madness" is training for spring marathon so want to keep 3 runs a week.
Good news - found $5 on my run this evening!
Went to the eye doctor for my annual examination. Great to hear minimal change from last year. Looking forward to weekend run!

Week in Review
Three runs this week. Happy with progress.
* Wednesday = 3 K
* Thursday = 5 K
* Saturday (today) = 21.1 K
Week Total = 29.1 K
Happy to have run 5 K after work on Thursday. In the evening, it began to snow and there was a "blanket" of snow for Friday. Today's run was 5C so all the snow melted :-) Ran on the Martin Goodman Trail - not many runners but it was great (only windy for a small portion of the run).
Slowly building up the mileage and looking forward to the spring marathons.

Today's incredible weather of 10C in mid-January is a record. Ran 20 K on the Martin Goodman Trail. Lots of runners and bicylists outside - some even in shorts! Final kilometre was not easy. Overall, felt good during the 2H 40M run.

17K LSD
Since there is flurries forecasted for later tonight, I took advantage of the dry sidewalks this late morning/early afternoon. Ran 17K on the Bloor/Danforth. Rather scenic route along the Danforth with the Greek restaurants - so many of them - how do all of them make business?
Need to monitor the training for potential injury - as it is in the early spring for the past few years when I gotten injuried. The left foot in the first few Ks seemed stiff - been like this all week - then fine onwards.
Back to work on Monday. It gets tricky in the winter with snow. Seem to run best on dry sidewalks - rather than on snow. Been getting our share of snow this winter (unlike last).

5K this morning
Ran 5 K this morning. Did not run yesterday since it snowed and today the snow was cleared on the sidewalk. A bit cold - so wore toque and mittens. Looking forward to LSD this weekend - then it's back to work on Monday.

First run in the new year!
Got in 5 K today - first run of the new year. Cold outside but sidewalks dry as the snow has been moved to the edge of the sidewalk.
For this year, I will strive for a more realistic goal - to run 1000 miles.
