Dream weather for running in the winter: about 0C with dry pathways to run! LSD 20 K took place on the Martin Goodman Trail west to the Humber River Bridge and then back. Quite a few runners on the trail this morning/afternoon.
Original plan was to run either 15 K or 17.5 K -- felt good enough to go to 20 K. After each 5 K, I did stretch the right glut. At 10 K, I could "feel" the glut -- after stretching, no issues. Must continue to stretching this week and using the heating pad.
Got an update the orthodics should be ready by the end of the week (waited 8 weeks). In desperate need as the current orthodics are now 4 years old - and not much use anymore (according to my physiotherapist).
YTD = 138 K

Thursday's 3 K run
Thought I posted...will try again. Thursday after work ran 3 K. Perhaps I can get 2 runs of 3 K into the work week for the future? Important to have run on Thursday as the weather forecasted 5-15 cm of snow (which never transpired). I did take the public transit to work on the Friday - was relaxing ride. YTD = 118 K

LSD 12.5 K
"Tested" out the gluts and no issues (thank goodness). Ran 12.5 K in nice weather (-6C with dry sidewalks and pathways). Route was on Queen Street and then south on Parliament to the Martin Goodman Trail - south to the Cherry Beach. Wish I didn't have an injury as this is definitely the winter to train for a marathon. Originally wanted 10 K but then increased it to 12.5 K; opted to stay conservative and not push it to avoid injury. Will continue to stretch the gluts. YTD = 115 K
Afterwards, went to the Apple Store in the Eaton Centre to purchase the 2 GB iPod Shuffle. Have no idea where the other one went so had to spend a total of $55.48 for the replacement. I know I put it in a pant pocket - but where did it go? Did it go in the recycling bin? As an aside, wish I bought Apple Stocks - that store is always packed with people!
Still awaiting word of my orthodics. May get a free pair - that would be great as I have spent $250 of my own money for the replacement. Why am I losing things these days?? Makes me empathize with students who lose things.

Friday 5 K
Friday after work = 5 K run. No issues :-) Glad I ran on Friday since the next day had snow on the ground (and melted as the day progressed). Will run 10 K tomorrow on Family Day and hope for no issues. Around the Bay 30 K is at the end of March so need to continue increasing the mileage. YTD = 102.5 K

Yesterday - 5 K
Yesterday: 5 K after work. No issues during run. Continue to stretch daily to loosen glueten right muscles. Definitely getting better - and won't overdue it which would make it worse.
Weekend in Kingston with school debaters. Brought running gear to run - did not run due to the snow :-(
YTD = 97.5 K

Back to Running :-)
First run this evening since January 23rd. Physiotherapist gave me the green light to run a slow 5 K this evening. Saw physiotherapist 5 times and will continue to stretch using exercises shown (as well as use heating pad). Need to stretch afterwards. Been frustrating 2.5 weeks as we've gotten excellent (and dry!) weather. Can do 10 K run this weekend. YTD = 92.5 K
