25 K LSD + York University photos

At the last minute, I was asked to supervise the Debate Team at York University. I reworked my schedule so I ran 25 K after work on Friday - run ended in the dark. Need to keep running as Around the Bay is at the end of March. Last week also got massage - legs very tight. YTD = 191.6 K

Photos of York University. Quite different as the university has so many new buildings. Can only imagine how packed the university is during the week.

Photo 1: Vari Hall - opened in January 2001 - I remember so well as I was a 1st year undergraduate student. First term was in construction. First class ever to be in VH lecture hall D.

Photo 2: Student Centre - opened also in January 2001 - same look - a few new fast foods with only Wendy's remaining. Gone are KFC, Manchu Wok.

Photo 3: Inside Vari Hall - the Rotunda

Photo 4: 2nd floor photo looking out of Vari Hall - building the TTC subway to York. Slated to open Fall 2016.

Photo 5: Central Square - before Vari Hall opened, this was the place to be - packed - back in 1990, people were allowed to smoke indoors - so there would be smoke galore here! Same look 2 decades later.

Photo 6: Scott Library

Photo 7: Curtis Lecture Halls - had many classes in CLH. Nothing has changed 2 decades later - except the upgrade to technology.

Photo 8: Ross Building - 8th floor was faculty of education when I attended - now moved to Winters College.

Week in Review

Week in review:

* Friday = 3 K
* Saturday = 21.1 K
* Today = 5 K

YTD = 166.6 K

All 3 runs this past week have been on dry sidewalks :-) Radio forecasts 10 cm of snow tonight - not again!

Received notification I am registered for the Midsummer Night's Run. Also, went to the VIA train station to change my ticket for the Ottawa Marathon - will leave Ottawa Monday morning (instead of Sunday night). This will allow my legs to recover. Must take a mandatory unpaid day of work - so will use May 26th as that day.

Last Week = 21.6 K

Last week was busy at work with semester 2 beginning. Did get in 1.6 K run after work on Friday - it was very cold! Also, got in 20 K on Saturday. Definitely has not been an easy winter with so much snow. Last week, got a snow storm on Wednesday - took TTC to work. YTD = 137.4 K

Here's Bud:

Week in Review

Two runs this week:

* Friday - Chinese New Year - 5 K

* Today - 15 K - did LSD in late afternoon; snow storm yesterday with freezing rain. Most of the sidewalks on Yonge Street and Bloor were cleared. Ran north on Yonge Street and then back.

YTD = 115.8 K

LSD 20 K

Got in 20 K running on Queen Street East. Much better weather conditions than yesterday. The snow has been cleared on the main street. Near the end of the run, it started to snow. Has not been an easy winter - and we're 1/3 through winter. YTD = 95.8 K

Today is my nephew's birthday. Bought pizza on the way home.

Bud is unable to jump on my bed. He now lies on the floor. A few days ago, he would give a painful cry and would not let anyone look at his left leg. Wonder if it's salt on the foot?

very cold week!

Frustrating as it's been VERY cold with wind chill. I was "brave" yesterday and got in 2.5 K after work. Wow - was super windy and there were times I wanted to make the run short. Did persevere it through. Didn't know where my left glove went - later found it in the bag - had a toque over the left glove but still the hand was frozen. YTD = 75.8 K

Worried about tomorrow's LSD. Snow storm last night and there is about 5 cm of snow. It is currently snowing right now. It has not been a nice winter.

Here's a photo of Bud outside in the yard as he helped me shovel the snow from the sidewalk:

21.1 K LSD

Was thrilled to see no snow on the sidewalks when I woke up (tend to oversleep when don't have to go to work!). Flurries started to come down half way through run. Dressed appropriately for the -5C weather - on the way back, wind was blowing in my face. Not the easiest run, but thrilled to report I completed 21.1 K on the Bloor/Danforth this late morning/early afternoon. Once again, enjoyed a Subway $3 roasted chicken 6 inch sub. So delicious!!! Such a great deal - better than the $6.50 Sunday special for a footlong roasted chicken.

YTD = 73.4 K
