Got in 20 K running on Queen Street East. Much better weather conditions than yesterday. The snow has been cleared on the main street. Near the end of the run, it started to snow. Has not been an easy winter - and we're 1/3 through winter. YTD = 95.8 K
Today is my nephew's birthday. Bought pizza on the way home.
Bud is unable to jump on my bed. He now lies on the floor. A few days ago, he would give a painful cry and would not let anyone look at his left leg. Wonder if it's salt on the foot?

very cold week!
Frustrating as it's been VERY cold with wind chill. I was "brave" yesterday and got in 2.5 K after work. Wow - was super windy and there were times I wanted to make the run short. Did persevere it through. Didn't know where my left glove went - later found it in the bag - had a toque over the left glove but still the hand was frozen. YTD = 75.8 K
Worried about tomorrow's LSD. Snow storm last night and there is about 5 cm of snow. It is currently snowing right now. It has not been a nice winter.
Here's a photo of Bud outside in the yard as he helped me shovel the snow from the sidewalk:

21.1 K LSD
Was thrilled to see no snow on the sidewalks when I woke up (tend to oversleep when don't have to go to work!). Flurries started to come down half way through run. Dressed appropriately for the -5C weather - on the way back, wind was blowing in my face. Not the easiest run, but thrilled to report I completed 21.1 K on the Bloor/Danforth this late morning/early afternoon. Once again, enjoyed a Subway $3 roasted chicken 6 inch sub. So delicious!!! Such a great deal - better than the $6.50 Sunday special for a footlong roasted chicken.

LSD tomorrow; what loyalty looks like!
Thursday after work = 3 K (made sure I got a run since radio said snow in the late evening).
YTD = 52.2 K
Looking forward to LSD tomorrow morning. Oh boy - snow forecasted.
While shovelling snow this morning, Bud was there to support me. Here's what loyality looks like. Such a special guy:

Registered for Niagara Ultra 50 K
Yeah! Registration is now up for the Niagara Ultra race on June 14th. I've signed up for the 50 K. My favourite race since it's an ultra marathon and not run on trails. Will be my third time running this race. The 100 K returns so throughout the 50 K will not feel "lonely" as the 100 K tend to be fast.
Ran 2.25 K after work yesterday. Hope to have a run tomorrow as well - aiming for 3 runs a week.
YTD = 49.25 K

LSD - 20 K
Only 1 run this week :-| Today, I successfully completed my LSD of 20 K along Queen Street West and East. Was 2C so the snow and ice was melting.
The weather has been very interesting this winter - last Monday, I took the TTC to work as there was supposed to be a snow storm (didn't happen). Tuesday was the coldest day of the year with a windchill close to -40C.
Hope to get in 2 weekday runs in the upcoming week. Hoping for good weather.
Anxiously awaiting to register for the Niagara Ultra 50 K. The 100 K is back this year, with a 14 hour time limit. The 50 K is challenging enough - one day, I hope to do the 100 K, with lots of walking!
YTD = 47 K

27 K so far this year
Three runs this week in the new year, 2014:
* Wednesday, January 1 = 5 K
* Friday, January 3 = 5 K
* Saturday, January 4 = 17 K LSD
It has not been great for running so far this winter - either cold, snowing, or freezing rain. Just walked Bud and it's snowing again - forecasting for another snow storm.

* completed 4 full marathons: Mississauga; Whitby; Toronto Waterfront; Hamilton
* completed 2 races 30 K: Around the Bay; Midsummer Night's Run
* The Hamilton Marathon in early November marked (ultra)marathon #20
Looking ahead to 2014 year, my goals are:
* remain uninjured (continue getting massages to loosen legs)
* have registered for: Around the Bay 30 K (March 30); Mississauga Marathon (May 4); Ottawa Marathon (May 25); Toronto Waterfront Marathon (October 19)
* on-line registration not yet available: Niagara Ultra 50 K (June 14); Midsummer Night's Run (?); Hamilton Marathon (November 2)
* If all goes well, the Hamilton Marathon in early November will be (ultra)marathon #25
* Goal is 1000 miles again (1609 K)
