Ran 5 K this morning. Did not run yesterday since it snowed and today the snow was cleared on the sidewalk. A bit cold - so wore toque and mittens. Looking forward to LSD this weekend - then it's back to work on Monday.
YTD = 10 K

First run in the new year!
Got in 5 K today - first run of the new year. Cold outside but sidewalks dry as the snow has been moved to the edge of the sidewalk.
For this year, I will strive for a more realistic goal - to run 1000 miles.

Year in Review
Total running in the year 2012 = 1435.7 K
December 26 = 5 K
December 29 = 2 K
December 31 = 15 K LSD
I think it was a good strategy to reduce the running mileage after the Hamilton Marathon - need some "down" time for the legs to "rest". Hopefully with the registered massage therapist working on the legs, there will be no injury in the spring (as there have been the last few years).
Been a great year with completing 1 ultra mararathon, 4 marathons, and 2 30Ks. Although the times were slower, happy with the number of races:
* 4:45:25 Hamilton Road2Hope Marathon, November 4, 2012
* 4:56:44 Toronto Waterfront Marathon, October 14, 2012
* 3:07:25.6 Midsummer Night's Run 30K, August 18, 2012
* 6:07:35 Niagara Ultra 50K, June 23, 2012
* 4:34:42 Whitby International Marathon, May 27, 2012
* 4:35:49 Toronto Marathon, May 6, 2012
* 2:58:34.4 Around the Bay 30K, March 25, 2012
This evening, registered for 2 marathons in the fall 2013:
$70 + tax = $79.10
Only race yet to register is the Midsummer Night's Run - will open in mid-January.
December 26 = 5 K
December 29 = 2 K
December 31 = 15 K LSD

Spring 2013 Races
Confirmed races for 2013:
* Sunday, March 24, 2013: Around the Bay 30 K $90 + $6 process fee = $96
This will be the 6th year participating in this race. An important race to prep for the full marathon.
* Sunday, May 5, 2013: Mississauga Marathon $70 + 13% tax = $79.10
Once again, the Toronto Marathon and Mississauga Marathon are on the same day (!). I have chosen Mississauga this year since the hills in the Toronto race are draining on the legs. Will miss the huge finisher's medal, though. Haven't done the Mississauga race since 2010. This was my very first marathon as a walker.
* Sunday, May 26, 2013: Whitby International Marathon $30 + $3 process fee = $33.00
What a bargin - how can I say no? Did this race last spring and it was great. There is running on gravel so it cannot rain.
* Saturday, June 22, 2013: Niagara 50 K Ultra $75 Did the 50K ultra last year and it was a major accomplishment. This year, no 100K race so everyone will be in the 50K. Turnaround at Niagara Falls is amazing. I should bring a camera this year. Currently in dilemma with the fall marathons. Just found out Toronto Waterfront Marathon is a week later on Sunday, October 20. This would mean 2 weeks until the Hamilton Marathon - not good... Should I run the Niagara Falls Marathon instead?? Or 2 marathons in 2 weeks??

update
Been a "long" time since posting. Battled a cold for a week - coughed in the face twice by a colleague at work :-( Anyways, running less these days to allow the legs time to rejuvenate.
November 20 - 3.5 K
November 28 - 2.5 K
December 2 - 8.0 K (1 hour run without a break)
YTD = 1368.7 K
