Montreal Marathon -- #40 is done!

Full/ultra marathon #40 is now in the books. Ran the Montreal Marathon for a 2nd time yesterday. Wow - don't recall the 2nd half being so hilly. Great running weather. Enjoyed the race. Only problem was no more finisher's medals -- got a wonderful e-mail of apology and that the finisher's medal will be in the mail in 4 weeks with complimentary registration for next year. Looks like I'm back in Montreal next year.

YTD = 1200 K

No photo of Bud with medal - once medal arrives in the mail, Bud will be photographed wearing it. Received a 21.1 K medal - no use as I did not run that distance. One runner was very upset. I'm okay with that since nothing I can do.

Overall place = 3653 out of 4545 (I do not believe I finished faster than 900 racers - probably lots that registered but did not participate)

Terry Fox Run tomorrow!!!

Tomorrow's the Terry Fox Run. I look forward to registering and making a donation. I was in grade 4 when Terry ran his Marathon of Hope. I remember all the media attention and excitement given - and he was in Toronto at the city hall! Such an inspiration. I see his statue just south of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa when I run the Ottawa Marathon in May. Next year will be particularly special as Canada celebrates 150 years. Heros such as Terry Fox have made Canada the nation it proudly is.

I ran 5 K this past Thursday. YTD = 1134.1 K

One week until the Montreal Marathon. Fall marathon season has arrived, with weather I hope for the entire running year.

Two runs this week:

Two more weeks until the Montreal full marathon. This will be full/ultra marathon #40 so it will be special. Will be the second time running this particular marathon - I like the second half through the Montreal communities.
